Horacio Martínez is an Argentine-American guitarist, composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and teaching artist based in New York City. His work blends South American folk traditions, jazz improvisation, and contemporary songwriting, creating a distinctive musical voice rooted in both heritage and innovation.

Born in San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina, Horacio earned a degree in Classical Guitar from the National University of Cuyo before establishing his career in New York. Drawing from Andean, Afro-Uruguayan, and Argentine traditions—including huayno, chacarera, zamba, candombe, and folklore—he combines rich rhythmic textures with jazz harmony, improvisation, and storytelling.

As a performer, Horacio has appeared at venues and institutions including Carnegie Hall, Saint Peter's Church, El Museo del Barrio, the Bronx Music Heritage Center, and the United Nations. He has collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Arturo O'Farrill, Leo Genovese, Mon Laferte, Emilio Teubal, and Residente.

In 2026, Horacio was awarded a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) Creative Engagement Grant for his project "South American Jazz Fusion: A Musical Journey Through the Andes and Harlem," featuring concerts and educational workshops throughout New York City.

A dedicated educator, Horacio has taught for Carnegie Hall's program, Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education, Boys' Club of New York, and numerous community-based arts initiatives. Through performance, composition, and education, he continues to build bridges between cultures while inspiring audiences and students of all ages.

Horacio is currently working on his third album, Tres Vidas, an original collection exploring migration, identity, and belonging through the lens of South American folk music and jazz.
